Microfinance clients in Ghana

WildHearts’ Microfinance Programme Receives Top Impact Award

We are proud that our microfinance programme in Zambia, was awarded the prestigious 60 Decibels Top Impact Award earlier this year. This award recognises ‘outstanding contributions to financial inclusion and social impact’, which we can only create as a result of the support from our customers and partners.

The 60 Decibels Microfinance Index is an annual initiative to gather impact data directly from microfinance clients, so financial services providers and their funders can compare social performance. Receiving the Top Impact Award means the Microloan Foundation (part of the WildHearts Group) ranked 2nd out of 35 African Financial Service Providers. This is a real testament to the amazing work they are doing, and we are proud to support.

Further insights from the Microfinance Index Insights Report highlight the transformative impact. The results from the report clearly show that receiving a microloan has significantly improved the quality of life and confidence of clients, with 98% of respondents saying this is the case. In addition, 97% of microfinance clients say that thanks to receiving a microloan, their ability to face major expenses has improved. We are delighted to celebrate this impact and see the difference that we are making on so many lives.

At WildHearts, we recently announced that we have collectively transformed the lives of over 2 million people. Our microfinance programmes transform the lives of those who need our help the most, providing emerging economies with vital access to finance and business training, empowering  entire communities.
