A Reflection of The WildHearts Future Talent Summit

Last month, we hosted our first Future Talent Summit at HPE’s new Customer Innovation Centre in London bringing together early careers young professionals from our partners Nestlé, Ocado Group, Zurich Insurance, Veolia, ABP UK, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

 

This event provided graduates and apprentices from across our partner organisations, the opportunity to build a valuable network of like-minded peers, deepen their understanding of business practices across different organisations and industries and hear from aspirational leaders.

 

Through talks from Matt Harris, panel discussions with Seyvan Kellay, Hannah Louise Brier, Elizabeth Skrzypecka & Zeenat Khan and interactive networking activities, the graduates and apprentices left with new connections and the confidence to tap into their innovative mindset throughout their future careers.

  • Values & Purpose – During Matt Harris’ keynote, he discussed the purpose of business and how he has aligned his business and personal values. Attendees learned how through Integrity, and doing the right thing for customers, Harris has continued to push boundaries of what’s possible and give back to the community.
  • Innovative Mindset – A key discussion point from our panel was what having an innovative mindset means to you. Our panel described instances where they encountered pushback or failure, however, changing their mindset led to a solution and a growth opportunity for them. They discussed Practising Positive Pessimism, and how being open to criticism and feedback has allowed them to grow their skills and grow their confidence.
  • Stretching Your Network – Attendees took part in networking activities where they shared the similarities and differences in their roles. The Graduates and Apprentices came away with a newfound appreciation for networking with people at the same point in their careers from different industries.
