WildHearts Office is celebrating after being named Siemens’ SME Supplier of the Year, recognising the positive impact and wider sustainability value of the partnership.
This year’s award criteria went beyond Social Impact, recognising suppliers for their contribution to sustainability alongside their commercial performance. WildHearts Office was recognised for several areas of its work with Siemens, including tracking the carbon emissions associated with deliveries, increasing the number of greener products purchased by Siemens, paying the Real Living Wage, and reinvesting all profit from the contract into WildHearts’ social and environmental work.
The award highlights how everyday commercial activity can be used to create positive social and environmental impact. As part of the WildHearts Group, WildHearts Office is a social enterprise that reinvests its profits into projects tackling social and environmental challenges in the UK and around the world.
To date, WildHearts has transformed more than 3 million lives globally. In the UK, WildHearts works to address social mobility and inequality of opportunity through its free Schools Programme, helping young people develop the essential skills they need for employability and life. Through workshops, employability programmes and opportunities to engage with businesses, the programme helps young people build their confidence, creativity, communication, teamwork, problem-solving and resilience, while developing the knowledge and networks they need to thrive.
WildHearts Schools has supported more than 500,000 student engagements since 2021, with its programmes delivered free of charge to young people as a result of support from WildHearts’ corporate partners.
Internationally, WildHearts supports communities through enterprise, education and health initiatives, with procurement spend helping women and girls in low-income countries access opportunities and essential resources. This includes providing female entrepreneurs with access to start-up capital and business training, supporting children to access essential learning resources, and providing reusable menstrual health products and education to girls experiencing period poverty.
The recognition from Siemens reflects how commercial relationships can help create this wider impact, demonstrating how procurement can contribute to environmental sustainability while supporting social mobility and positive change in communities.
Colin Downie, Managing Director of the WildHearts Group, said:
“Winning supplier awards for metrics beyond Social Impact is particularly satisfying and recognises the hard work of the entire team. We appreciate Siemens pushing us to improve and the support provided to do so.”
The team at WildHearts Office would like to thank Siemens for recognising the partnership and everyone across WildHearts who has contributed to this achievement.
